Valerie Best

Community Relations Director

Valerie brings with her to Steen & Company an exceptional history of customer service experience. Her combined attributes of a strong work ethic, high energy and never-say-quit attitude have allowed her to receive much favor in the marketplace.

Shortly after graduating from Sierra High School, and having an interest in the fields of medicine and science, she enrolled in and completed Galen College of Medical and Dental Assistants, graduating with a certificate in Medical Assisting at the top of her class.

Growing up in the foothills of the Central Valley, she became an avid outdoor enthusiast, and enjoys cooking, hunting, and spending time with family.

 

Jimmy A. Steen

Jimmy A. Steen is a licensed life insurance agent in the State of California. Since beginning his practice in 1984, he has assisted hundreds of client-families in the following areas:

  • Asset Protection
  • Post-Retirement Planning
  • Long-Term Care Planning
  • Pre-arranged Funeral Planning
  • Medi-Cal Planning & Qualification Assistance

Prior to his semi-retirement, he was a regular seminar speaker and workshop facilitator. In addition, he provided his insight and experience for the benefit of several charitable non-profit groups, two of which are Teen Challenge of Southern California and Crown Financial Ministries. Jimmy A. Steen has been married to his wife Thelma since 1960, and they reside in Morro Bay, CA. Together they have three children and twelve grandchildren. Jimmy spends the majority of his time in semi-retirement, but continues to advocate on behalf of his clients and any and all who need the benefits asset protection.

 

Charlie Waters

As an International Aide to famed oil tycoon H.L. Hunt of Hunt Oil Company, the largest independent oil company in the United States at the time, Dr. Waters earned a reputation as a sincere relationship builder, altering the course of history numerous times by mediating challenging international disputes over energy and other issues. Dr. Waters has lectured internationally, including American College in Dubai and Heidelberg College in Germany.

Dr. Waters served as a consultant to the Los Angeles Olympic Committee, consultant to the Navy, and was instrumental in the development of Tokyo Disneyland, among other projects. He also was on the Congressional Fire Caucus, and serves as Past Chairman of the Board of the Veterans Day Parade Committee.

Dr. Waters’ present activities include:

  • Marine Toys for Tots Board Member

His cast iron commitment to America's military and veterans is unwavering, as he continues advocating through legislative means for the advancement of veterans’ rights.
